Potential Female Black-Headed Grosbeak and a female tanager?

Post by MtnAg08 »

Saw this one hiking today in Beaver Creek, CO. I think it's a female black-headed grosbeak but want to confirm. I also have another shot of a bird that was taken in the same vicinity that I only got a quick, blurry phot of. Maybe a female tanager of some sort? Thanks!

Agreed.
It feels so nice to say that again, reminds so much of the past days of the forum.

One of these days I'll get a good photo on that warbling vireo. I caught one in the background of a yellow-rumped warbler I was shooting two months ago and then saw this one but didn't have time to get fully focused on it. I feel like once I get a good look/photo I should be able to remember/recognize this one!

The grosbeak could also be an immature.
