Nondescript brown birds
Nondescript brown birds
A few birds I've seen over the last week in Avon, CO that I'm not really sure on. The one with something in it's mouth looks to have the red back of the region's dark-eyed junco in one photo but then the face up photo doesn't look right for one. The two together in the tree I really don't have a guess on. The one's on the ground I'm thinking maybe Lark Sparrow? Thanks!

Thanks. I defintiely agree about bird 5 being dark-eyed junco. My doubt was I thought the bird in picture 1 was the same as bird 5 as both had a bug in their mouth and were in order on the camera role. Picture 1 did not look like a junco to me. I went back and checked the time stamp and bird 1 was taken about 20 minutes after bird 5 so that cleared that up....that's what I get for not uploading the pictures and processing for a week!
I also was really confident on the Lark Sparrow so thanks for confirming. That's a new one for me!
The other two make sense. I've seen plenty of house finches but unless there's a male present I'm no good at picking out the female. Chipping Sparrows have been very prevalent in the area. The crown is a dead giveaway when I see it but without seeing it I'm clueless lol. Bird 1 could definitely be that.
