Unidentified passerine

:? I am fairly competent at identifying the usual avian visitors to my backyard. This one has me stumped.

That is one possible identification. I will keep it in mind. I often see the Woodhouse's Scrub Jay in my backyard during the summer months. This would be an unusually early arrival for that species. On the other hand, this year's February weather (although variable) has been unusually warm and I have spent more hours on the balcony than is my custom. ;)

They are year round residents for their entire range I believe
