Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. Other things that help are listing any field marks that stood out, behavioral information like how it walked, hopped or flew. This Forum is just for North American birds.
I saw this bird today at the Orange Reservoir in Essex County, NJ. Merlin picked up Cackling goose on audio, so I tried to get pics of the smaller looking geese. Looking at the pics, I couldn't find one that I thought was cackling, but this was the one I wasn't sure about. I don't think the bill is small enough, but.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
