Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. I’m in Montana in the Helena area and heard this empid on a road through the pines on a mountain outside town
Minimal recording but I also heard it doing a whit type call note so wondering is this a dusky or something else

If the same bird making that call was whitting, it's a Dusky

Slim chance they were separate birds but I don’t think so

Went back today and found a singing dusky and two westerns
