Apparently I rarely take mallard photos... That's on in the back, the one in the forefront is a Mexican Duck.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Upper Peninsula, Michigan. September 2020. eBird checklist S73930928

From our U.P. trip early in the COVID era. This hen was casually working the edge of Lake Superior.

Good frozen morning, Whatbirders*, from the frozen tundra of Brunswick NC! Despite six inches of that frozen white garbage, a delightful 19 degrees, and almost two hours of power outage, I'm pleased to announce:

Cave Swallow

* muscle memory.

Well, now, this is a bitter pill to swallow, but I will. :lol: I don't have a Cave Swallow either. They are way out of my range.

Good morning, Whatbirders! Looks like I've tossed out a couple of clunkers for two weeks running. Hopefully more people will have this week's bird!

My favorite flycatcher. Not my best photo but a bird that I used to see daily when walking my dog - taken in 2016, long before I got more interested in birding, with my trusty Nikon D7200.

I've seen them - and occasionally even been able to distinguish the Eastern from the Western - but I don't have any photos!

My former backyard in Lexington County, central SC. August 2019.

A blurry shot out the kitchen window. There were a couple of spots where the birds would dust-bath but this wasn't one of them; the pine straw is an even mat. There also weren't any ant mounds in the area. I think the bird was just sunbathing.

I think you may be confusing them with Wood-Pewees.
