Help with a wren

Post by Sbruenjes »

I saw this bird today at Garret Mountain Reservation in Passaic County, NJ. Merlin had picked up a house wren earlier, but to me, this looks more like a winter wren than a house wren. It made no calls, so I don't have that.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with Winter Wren. I love these birds. With their proportions, they don't look like they should be able to fly.
