New Species at Feeders

Post by Greyhawk »

Photos, video, and/or audio taken on day of posting in the Dallas, Tx area.

Confirm Downy Woodpecker? I didn't realize they were that tiny. He's actually inside the cage. I've seen them on the property before, but it was a couple of years ago, before we had the feeders.

Size comparison, Downy and Hairy Woodpecker. This photo makes me wonder how size could ever be confused between these two species. Seeing them individually just proves to me that size really is hard to determine at times.
